Why You Can (and Should) Post Your Content in Multiple Places

When I’ve told people to reuse their content, they usually ask me “are you sure???”

Yes, I’m sure.

Let’s say your business has multiple social media accounts: Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Pinterest (because Pinterest marketing is trending). Maybe you go onto Canva and create a quick little graphic to go along with your blog post of this week. Now you have an image, and you have text.

When you go to post it on Facebook, you’ll post the image and most of the text. For Instagram, the image, and a quote from the text. LinkedIn, you are posting the link to the blog post, and a quote, and for Pinterest, just the image and the title of the blog post. Additionally, you are going to send out that blog post to your email list (but more on that later).

So now you’re probably thinking “won’t people get annoyed with seeing the same content over and over?”

 
 

First of all, the people who are using all these different platforms to engage with you, are probably not the same people. As you can see, each generation tends to prefer different social media platforms. The consumption is completely different, so by utilizing multiple, you are able to reach many different audiences, and you’re saving time and energy by doing so.

Secondly, the algorithms of each of those sites are already hard enough to crack, so the likelihood of someone who follows you on all sites, and checks all of them regularly, seeing your content multiple times is just not that likely.

Lastly, if someone happens to see your content in multiple places, how much will they really care? If anything, it’s like seeing an ad twice. It reminds you and maybe even makes you think it over again.

The risk is so much lower than the reward!

So create your content, and then post it — everywhere. I mean it.
