Does Super Bowl Advertising Still Matter?

I saw this post on LinkedIn from Callie Schweitzer talking about the Super Bowl advertisements.  Super Bowl ads are the pinnacle of the marketing world, the zeitgeist of the year, and a cultural celebration—I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t the only part of the Superbowl I cared about.

Callie brings up an interesting point here.  As we go into the second year of the pandemic, companies are re-evaluating their strategies and reconfiguring their businesses.  The next wave of marketing is authenticity, social responsibility, and integrity.  2020 paved the way for a new form of marketing.

You can see below that I did vote no on Callie’s poll. I don’t believe Super Bowl advertising matters as much. These past 11 months have taught us that less is more, people matter, and corporations actually suck. So be warned.
