How A Blog Helps SEO

If you have a website and you don't have a blog, I'm officially inviting you to add a blog to your site. (and if you don't have a site yet, I invite you to click here)

But Sequoia, why on earth do I really need a blog???

Well, I'll tell you.

Not only does a blog help provide your site visitors with more information about you and what you offer, but it also boosts your SEO. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and is the algorithm that determines how you show up in search engines like Google.

There’s a lot that goes into developing a solid SEO plan, but a blog is my favorite way. A blog helps amp up your SEO by adding more of your glorious keywords to your site. These are the magic words that your website is trying to show up for. The more these words show up on your website, the more search engines (like google) think of your site as an authority for those keywords.

Blogs are essentially an amalgam of powerful keywords to help your sites SEO.

Your blog also helps reach more people who are actively searching for the things you are writing about. For example, one of my oldest blog posts brings in the majority of my site traffic. The length of time does matter when it comes to blog posts, and that’s why I encourage people to get started sooner rather than later.

So please consider adding a blog to your website. Your site traffic will thank you.
